‘allo ‘allo, it’s le mountainboard en France

Cambione reports from south-central France and the Psycho-Ride series (held on 20th+21st August 2011)…

Here are some pictures of this second edition of Psycho-Ride on the tracks of the Super Lioran Station. A round of the mountainboard championships of France, held under a beautiful sunny sky allowing riders to experience this beautiful region of Cantal…

On Saturday morning the riders started to arrive to see the track. After a small glass of mint & some chocolate, the 17 participants went up to the top on the cable car for a recce of the 6.5 km route… The details of the track and it’s speed are the focus of all the discussions during the lunch break!

And everyone goes back to the top for the first round. It starts with 8 riders and goes very fast…

Remi Bordier shows his first round talent by swallowing stones on his nosno.

Emily Ribes & Manu Maldan of MtbB accompanied by Guillaume Lecointre took a brisk descent down the mountain … they love to corner!

The young Axel Muratore (10 years old) amazes everyone by finishing the course with a beautiful technique and still begging for more.

The competition was tough and riders repaired any damage and got ready for the final… Focused and determined, they start quick but the gaps widen in the first part of the course. An exciting race: first down was Victorian Szyjan, soon followed by Alexander and Benoit Bietrix Gelin third.

At the end of the afternoon after installing the kicker, Adrien Langlade, Victo, Benoit Talec and a few others put on a nice freestyle show for the many spectators present…

A long day of mountain-boarding comes to a finish, everyone hits the shower before finding Nutter’s Café (St.Jacques des Blats) for some good food and great atmosphere until late with Goltgot 15 and Bodhgaya on the wheels of steel.

On sunday, play is really quiet due to tiredness but we still have a small ride in Penard. 😉

Thankyou to all the participants for their presence & downright good mood, and all the volunteers who ensured the smooth running of the National Competition. The AMBC and North-Ride… Psycho-Ride Volume 3 on the go…
