Bike Park Shenanigans The 7th March 2010 saw a small gathering of wheelieboard enthusiasts hit Aston Hill Bike Park. On the Bucks/Herts border, it's almost directly opposite Rem-crew top spot Wendover Woods. Run by the Forestry Commission, CTC & the AH bike club, this Mountainbike park has seen some troubles over the last few years but is back on form. There are many tracks and trails and even a duel bx course, which was home to a NoSno Downhill competition back in 2001. Click on the map below to go to the official website and see more of what it offers and where it is... So, with Wilz on photo duties (not riding due to recently collapsing a lung), Smilie, Roger, Spud and (top riders from Reading) Woody & Harry hit the place with all they had. The BX course had sure seen better days but it was still ripping, the boys getting creative all over it rather than sticking to the 'course'. The sun shining made this a great playground for several hours, before heading to 'the far side' and getting tech in the trees, with some droppage in there for good measure. Enjoy some of the snaps here and check out Spud's write-up of this fun sunday on his blog (that's Spud pulling the cheeky method over the grassy hip below ;) Nice riding boyz. Aston is a great place to ride, and would officially cost you £7 for the day, 6 if you book online first. The other users were friendly unlike some other bikeparks we could mention, and we'll definately be back. In fact, it would be a good location for the first official Rem Riders Meet or even a 10yr anniversary of NoSno's comp... Watch this space, people :) |
