Who are you and which comp did you host?
We’re Karen and Les, and we held round four (originally round three but the weather caused chaos again!) at Haredown.

How did the BoarderX racing go?
I think the racing went brilliantly, the track was in the best condition it has been in for years. Many comments from riders expressed how much they enjoyed it and how fast it was (Karen)

What did the riders get up to after the racing?
They had a very quick break then straight into the freestyle. Weather for Sunday was forecast as being heavy rain and boy were they right!

How did the freestyle go?
Freestyle went well, after having the jumps re-modelled by Joe Dickson and lots of grooming by our groundsman Simon Holding it meant they could get plenty of air to show us some amazing tricks. (Les)

What made this comp special?
For us what made it special was all the hard work and dedication our staff put into getting us ready and making it all go smoothly on the day. Having everyone enjoy themselves and saying how great the centre was looking & running was a bonus. (Karen & Les)

Which rider stood out from the crowd?
Personally for me Amy-Rose Wanklyn stood out for the sheer guts & determination she showed in mastering the track & how much she gave in the freestyle. Seeing her on the podium achieving so much was for me what mountain boarding is truly about. (Les)

What will you do now it’s over?
We carry on giving new people and regular riders a taste of the great sport which we love and hopefully they come back and we will see the next generation of competitors! And the work continues for next years comps (Karen & Les)

There’s another gallery from the event busting with loads’a storming photo’s from Haredown’s main man. While you are scrolling to the link take some time to check these from Facebook’s Mountain Board Media, Andy Rolfe:

Les doesn’t just help out at one of the best mountainboard centres in the country, he’s also pretty handy with a camera. And yes between making sure the centre was running smoothly and the event crew had everything they needed. Les found time to grab his camera and capture to action.

So it was only right for us to give him gallery all to himself. White Media Pictures Haredown Gallery
