New World Champions

The World Mountainboard Championship has just taken place in Slovenia… Who took the titles?

An amazing weekend of international wheelieboard action has just climaxed at the dry forest track in Kranj. Loads of riders travelled the globe to get there and ride the super fun ‘Dirt Dessert’ Boardercross track (a long flowing ribbon of berms and rollers), hit the Freestyle park, and hang-out with our amazing global fam.

BX quallies took place on friday june 29th. The local riders were obviously tearing up the track, with loads of close calls and overtakes, and there were several surprises…

Following the IMA’s feed and various social media platforms like Instagram’s imountainboard, we  could all see the exciting events of the day: by all accounts, an incredible saturday June 30th 2018!

BIG congratulations to Kody Stewart, who took the Pro World BoarderX title back for the first time since 2013.

Check out all the results here:

The Freestyle kicked off that evening at 6.30pm, as if the riders weren’t tired enough already! It too had it’s share of surprises, with sick runs coming thick and fast. It had a rail start, with smaller jumps leading to the big booter. Arno VDV, Nicky Geerse, James Wanklyn and many more all stepped up for an awesome display of mountainboard magic.

Full freestyle results coming soon.

"WMC18 is a wrap, we're all finished with racing & freestyle and our queens and kings were crowned!
We'll have detailed results tomorrow, as for now, riders are heading to the dinner and after-party.

We did have a few injured riders, and so of course our thoughts are with them. The mountainboarding community is tight and we know everyone will take care of their friends.

Thank you everyone who worked so hard to make this happen, the organisers and all the volunteers. A big thank you to all the riders who made it here in Kranj, Slovenia and made this event so special.
We can't wait to see you next year for the next WMC - location to be determined. But for now, the party is ON!

Simona Petro, the new overall ladies World Champ!
